SALESBURY recorded a first win of the season with a two-wicket triumph over Edenfield.
Chasing a total of 173, with professional Susantha Pradeep claiming a magnificent five-wicket haul, Will Cook set the foundations with a knock of 23. James Watson bolstered the total adding 30 before Pradeep continued his heroics, top-scoring with 66.
Elsewhere, Whalley were undone by a bowling master class by Padiham’s paid man Chris Holt and Steve Meehan. The Arbories pro claimed 4-42 while Meehan took a sensational 6-58 to restrict the hosts to 104 at Station Road. Captain Richard Palmer top-scored with 30 for the home side who eventually lost the match by three wickets.
And Ribblesdale Wanderers suffered a similar fate against reigning champions Baxenden.
Professional Werner Coetsee tried to inspire his side with a knock of 59 at Church Meadow while opener John Rain had fired 31.
But despite a four wicket haul from Brannon Varley, Ian Britcliffe’s side sunk to a three-wicket defeat after Baxenden overcame their 143-run target.
