Salesbury were beaten by Baxenden in the 20/20 competition on Friday night, but immediately earned revenge in the league the following day.

On Friday at Back Lane, in Group Two, Salesbury batted first and scored 139 off their 20 overs.

Openers Liam Parkinson hit 30, and Neil Hornbuckle 56, while Joe Rawlinson finished unbeaten on 22.

It looked a tough ask in view of the poor light, however, led by captain Gary Sudworth with 50, Baxenden won the game with an over to spare.

Great Harwood, Salesbury and Baxenden now all have six points, so run rate may well be the deciding factor in who now advances.

Great Harwood play Baxenden tomorrow night in what may well be a winner-takes-all clash, while Salesbury will hope to beat bottom club Oswaldtwistle to secure a quarter-final spot.

Then on Saturday, in the league, Baxenden were bowled out for 97, with Andrew Mercer taking 5-49 and Parkinson 4-26. Salesbury reached their target with eight wickets in hand and 14 overs to spare.
