SABDEN Cricket Club are in action on Sunday in the National Village Knockout at Mawdesley, who play in the Palace Shield competition. All support is welcome, wickets pitched at 2 p.m.
• CLITHEROE Hockey Club help launch Rush Hockey in partnership with the England Hockey Board, tonight from 7 p.m. at Accrington Academy, Queens Road West.
The new hockey format, recently introduced by England Hockey Board, is a fast-paced version of the game, played without goalkeepers, and with just four or five players per side.
The ball is bigger and lighter, the rules are simpler and playing times are shorter .
The “Come & Play” sessions are open to all, male or female, over 14s.
• THE draw has been made for Peter Lambert Memorial open charity doubles at Sabden Bowling Club.
Qualifying rounds are on Saturday, with eight pairs going through to the finals on Sunday. All proceeds go to Pendleside Hospice.
