Chatburn quad racer has his eyes on the prize!

THE pressure is mounting for 12-year-old Chatburn quad racer Ayrton Knowles ahead of the penultimate round of the Northern Quad Championship this weekend at the Wooley Grange Motocross Park in County Durham.

Ayrton’s season has gone from strength to strength, with a fantastic first overall in class at the British Championship, and he now holds second in class in the Northern Championship, only 18 points off the leader, but only six points ahead of third.

But with Ayrton’s recent quicker pace, it’s all to race for!

Arton said: “Dad and I always said this season would be all about learning, but if you had said at the start of this season I would have been on the pace of the top lads, I’d have said you were joking. But my quad is absolutely brilliant to ride and when I enjoy it it’s easy.”

Last weekend he made a long trip up to Leuchers in Scotland to keep bike fit and just keep an eye on the opposition, with a 3-2-4 finish for third overall.

Ayrton added: “If it wasn’t for dad building me such a good quad, and all my sponsors for their great products I wouldnt be in the race.

“I am really going to try my hardest this weekend to pay them all back.”

Ayrton’s sponsors are DWT Wheels and Tyres, Motorex Oils, DID Chains, Berik Boots, Troy Lee Design Helmet and Gear, Easton Handle Bars and KIK ATVs.
