TWO brothers from Brockhall Village are fast becoming a formidable force in the world of karting following highly successful campaigns in 2011.

Jonny and Sam Buchanan celebrated sporting success last year when they each drove their way to victory in their respective championships.

Sam (15) triumphed in the Junior Formula Blue Championship – he had previously taken the title a year earlier in 2010.

He also managed to secure third place in the Blue Star Challenge, a competition that consists of four rounds held over the course of a year.

Jonny (22) clinched the MBKC KZ2 Gearbox 125cc Championship, as well as competing in the National Championships.

He also took part in the ABKC British Championships, coming in 16th, and also managed a superb fourth-place finish in the NKF Championship.

The pair were presented with their awards at a ceremony at Park Hall, Charnock Richard, after both racers had won their championships at Manchester and Buxton Kart Club at Three Sisters, Wigan.

And this year looks to be another exciting year for the pair, with both racing against each other in the 125cc KZ2 Gearbox Championship.

They will also be competing in the National Kart Federation Championship, racing at speeds of up to 100 m.p.h.

Jonny will also be competing in the British ABKC Championship, before returning to race alongside his brother for the Club Championship.
