The annual Chase Templeton Open Singles competition took place at Whalley Bowling Club recently.
And fine weather ensured that good spectator numbers were entertained with fine bowling and drama as several fancied bowlers were eliminated in the early rounds.
By late afternoon the semi-finals were contested by Gary Evans of Salesbury versus David Walker of Whitworth, while Peter Wellman of Barrowford played Michael Burns of Rishton Conservative Club.
Walker triumphed 21-10 and Burns 21-19 to earn the final places.
A titanic struggle ensued, with neither player being allowed to dominate, but Walker took the title by a score of 21-19.
