Victoria helps England to team gold

VICTORIA Wilkinson was the convincing winner of the Home International Mountain Running Championships in the picturesque village of Melmerby near Penrith.

Victoria, whose Sports Massage business is based in Clitheroe, also helped England take team gold, with team mates Olivia Walwyn-Bush 1min 15sec adrift in second place and Kendal-born Rebecca Robinson in third.

The championships, which incorporated the final round of the McCain Mountain Running Series, involved a 10k uphill only course, which took the runners to the summit of Hartside Head.

Victoria, who works part-time at Denise Park’s Physiotherapy Practice, would like to thank Denise for her continued support.

She built on her success this weekend with victory on two wheels in horrendous conditions in the 50th 3 Peaks Cyclo Cross race near Settle.

It was her first attempt at the event, which was also won by her dad, Chris 40 years ago!
