Mytton Fold’s Ladies have, with the generous support of Humberstones the Jewellers, obtained a new starting clock for the club.

To be sited by the first tee, Rex Humberstone is pictured presenting the clock and plaque to Barbara Bryan and Lady Captain Jean Havard.

Luke Chadwick took Mytton Fold’s August Medal competition played at the weekend.

Played in damp conditions the course played long, making Luke’s 80-11-69 all the more creditable.

Wayne Ivinson’s 76-5-71 netted him second place, and the lead of the club’s Order of Merit.

Third spot was fought over by four players, with the card playoff resolved in the order of Glynn Watson (82-10-72), Bob Devine (91-19-72), Gary Ashton (87-15-72) and Steve James (94-22-72).

Biggest smile of the day was on Phil Ryan’s face when he chipped in at the first hole for the only two of the day.
