Whalley’s Adam Morgan was back in action as the British touring car championship heads towards a dramatic conclusion.
Round eight was held at Rockingham Speedway in Northamptonshire, as Morgan looked to continue his run of form.
He qualified in sixth place, just 0.7 of a second off pole position, and settled for fifth place in race one, and another valuable haul of points.
However, in race two, a small stone went through the radiator of his Mercedes, causing the engine to overheat and fail, leaving Morgan no choice but to retire.
Morgan was able to start race three, but pulled back into the pits at the end of the second lap with more engine trouble. Morgan now sits 11th in the championshiop, which continues at the end of the month with the penultimate round at Silverstone.
