A YOUNG Ribble Valley swimmer is looking to make 2012 another record breaking year.
The 10-year-old, who lives in in Brockall Village and swims for Pioneer 79 Amateur Swimming Club in Blackburn, has just been ranked the UK’s number one swimmer in the 10-year-old age group for the 50m Butterfly – after clocking a time of 33.93 seconds.
The time is the 11th fastest 50m butterfly time ever for a 10-year-old and was achieved at the Stockport Metro Open, which was attended by the North-West’s top clubs and included Olympians Kerri-Anne Payne, James Goddard and Michael Rock.
At the Pioneer Club Championships Natasha also broke five out of six club records for 50m butterfly, freestyle and backstroke and also 100m individual medley and 100m freestyle.
And at the recent Potential Olympians Gala held in Salford she took the top girl trophy ahead of all the female swimmers who took part from across the North-West, including City of Salford and Trafford Metro.
Her proud dad Stuart said: “She hopes to do well in the Lancashire Championships coming up early in 2012 and hopefully to represent GB at some point.”
