Whalley’s Harry Hartley was hoping to make his second appearance for the Tsingtao WK Kawasaki team and get to grips with his bike on the Brands Hatch GP circuit at the weekend.

However, on arrival at the circuit, he was advised that he was still not fit to race after injury forced him out of the fourth round of the British Superbike Championship at Knockhill late last month.

The 17-year-old was due to make his bow at Knockhill, but, as he got used to his new machine in FP3, he had an off that left him injured, and after a precautionary scan, he was forced out of the round.

Hartley said: “ It’s a legacy from the Knockhill accident that is keeping me off the bike, but I’ll be fully fit to compete in the next round at Thruxton.”
