A girls’ team which plays both hockey and netball has pulled off a remarkable feat.
The same girls have won the National Schools’ tournament in both sports, in the qualifying round to represent Lancashire.
The Stonyhurst College team is the first from the school ever to win in both sports.
Stonyhurst’s Head of Girls’ Sport Emma Kay said: “It’s highly unusual for one team to play both sports to such a high standard.
“In my 17 years’ experience of National Schools tournaments, I have never known the same team to qualify in hockey and netball alike.
“The girls love their sport and this just proves their versatility!”
