Samantha Murray is back at the scene of one of her famous medal successes this week.
Three years ago, the current World Modern Pentathlon champion claimed bronze in the Italian capital, earning her place at the London Olympics, where she went on to add a silver medal.
And this week she is looking for a second World Cup win in as many outings after victory in Sarasota, Florida, as the road to Rio 2016 opens up, with opportunities to book your place in Brazil at this year’s World Cup Final, European and World Championships.
The 25-year-old is part of a four-strong Great Britain women’s team for the third World Cup of the season, which started yesterday and concludes on Monday.
The women’s qualification competition was held yesterday, with Samantha aiming to be involved in tomorrow’s women’s individual final.
