Samantha Murray will aim to launch a bid for a podium position this week at the European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Minsk.
Murray and Kate French will form the Pentathlon GB challenge at the Championships, which started on Monday and runs until this coming Monday.
The 2014 World champion and 2012 Olympic silver medalist won team gold at the European Championships in 2013 in Drzonkow and in the team relay.
In Minsk, Lithuania’s Laura Asadauskaite will aim to win the women’s title for the third successive year.
Asadauskaite won in 2015 in Bath, before defending her crown last year in Sofia.
The London 2012 Olympic champion also won the European title in Sofia back in 2012.
She goes into the event in good form, having won the International Modern Pentathlon Union World Cup Final title last month.
Gulnaz Gubaydullina of Russian and Turkey’s İlke Özyüksel will also challenge.
