RIBBLE VALLEY Netball Club have made a great start to the tournament season.
The Greater Manchester Junior Tournament was first up at Wright Robinson Sports College, and Ribble Valley entered squads at Under 12s, 13s, 14s, and two squads at Under 16s.
All squads worked hard and recorded some good results, with the Under 13s runners-up in the Plate competition, and the Under 12s winning their age Plate competition.
The Under 15s did not drop a game, recording wins over some strong opposition from Bury, Tameside, Trafford and Ribble.
Meanwhile, the club’s little ones recently enjoyed their first match at Longridge.
Girls from Years 3,4,5 and 6 experienced an afternoon of friendly match play.
There were two squads of seven who took to the courts for a HIGH Five game, which involves the rotation of positions. The Year 5/6 squad won 25-10 and Year3/4 15-2.
The afternoon finished off with the older girls having a go at seven-a-side, and Ribble were again successful.
Anyone interested in new sessions for younger girls can contact Sara on 01200 424281.
Ladies from the Ribble Valley are all invited to have a go at netball, with no age or ability limitations!
As part of an initiative by England Netball, Ribble Valley have been running popular Back To It sessions since September for those who have not played the game before, and those that want to get back into it.

The group gets together between 8-9 every Monday at Oakhill College, Whalley.
