Nigel Fairhurst took the final round of Mytton Fold Golf Club’s Winter Singes in fine style when he scored a hole-in-one on his way to a nett 51 on the 16-hole winter course.
Nigel, playing off a winter handicap of 15, aced the 170-yard 11th hole to take the win by just one shot from Baz Hargreaves.
Third, and Winter Series Order of Merit winner, was Dave Clegg with a nett 55.
Junior Organiser Richard Greaves also carded a nett 55, but was pushed into fourth spot following a card playoff.
Tony Cross took fifth ahead of leading lady Judith Kay and Club Treasurer Frank Tunstall.
Judith’s score secured her place as the winner of the ladies’ Winter Series Order of Merit.
There were three ‘twos’, with Kyle Furlong birdying the first, Judith Kay doing likewise at the last, and Nigel Fairhurst’s eagle earning him a third share of the pot.
With the final round of the Winter Singles having been played, Dave Clegg wins the men’s section with 68 points, followed by Nigel Fairhurst (56 points), Steve Worrall (50 points) and John Parkinson and Gary Aldred both on 48 points.
In the Ladies’ Section it’s a series win for Judith Kay with Hazel Sellars runner up and Jean Havard in third spot.
