The Crystal Palace National Sports Centre hosts the National Finals of the British Schools Modern Biathlon Championships later this month - and two young men from Clitheroe will be hoping to run and swim their way to success.

Following successful qualification at events in Liverpool and Macclesfield, CrossFit Clitheroe athletes, brothers James and Christian Barsby, and their Clitheroe Grammar School chum Callum Hudson now face a the challenge of a 1,000m run and a 100m swim against the best the nation can offer on March 27th.

The trio won the team competition at both the qualifying and semi-final stages, with James Barsby qualifying in his own right with a sixth place in the individual rankings.

The twin brothers, who train under coach Chris Templeman at CrossFit Clitheroe and who swim at Clitheroe Dolphins, both smashed their personal best times for both run and swim and are now ranked in the top 40 competitors in the country.
