Saturday saw the September Stableford competition at Whalley Golf Club.
Overall winner with 42 points was Stuart Andrews, four points in front of second and third places in Division Two respectively, Terry Pike and Clive Rees.
Division One winner was Ken Bolton with 36 points, beating Ben Graves into second place on a card play-off. Third place went to Bruce Craig with 34 points.
There was only one two on the day, going to Paul Wray.
Sunday saw the Hitchin Final, with 15 players taking the field in this medal board competition. It was a closely-contested affair, with Steve Shoreman lifting the trophy with a nett 71, just pipping Colin T. Elliott on a back six hole card play-off. Third place went to Paul Chalker with a nett 74.
Last Thursday in the Whalley Ladies’ Autumn Invitation competition, Margaret Calvert and Karen Thompson from Whalley, alongside Jean Dodgson from Great Harwood and Gail Ainsworth from Clitheroe, won on a card play-off with 91 points from Shirley Palich and Lady Captain Sally Blenkinship, and Janet Halfpenny and Judith Harrison .
At Wilpshire Golf Club, the Ladies’ EG Medal was won by D. Tattersall’s (100-27-73), ahead of L. Hunter (98-20-78). Veterans’ winner and Breakthrough Breast Cancer Brooch was also D. Tattersall, from J. Bond (105-25-80).
