Leaders Tigers and Waddington Red both dropped valuable points in the latest round of fixtures in the Dorothy Southworth indoor bowling league played at the Roefield Leisure Centre Clitheroe.

Tigers beat Clitheroe White 4-2 but surprisingly suffered a reverse on mat one where Rick Grogan, Marjory Fryer and Terry Hamer lost out to Paul Carlton, Jim Marshall and Keith Carlyn to deny themselves the maximum win.

It was a similar story in the game involving Waddington Red and The Wanderers, with Brenda Pilling, Lynne Mulderig and Arthur Norman just getting the upper hand over ‘Reds’ Ian Jackson, Jack Arthur and Bill Rome.

New team The French Connection continued their improvement, just losing out to West Bradford by 37 shots to 40 after sharing the games 1-1.

Sabden also returned to winning ways recording a maximum 6-0 points victory over Waddington Blue taking the aggregate 48 shots to 30.

Closest game of the week involved Read and Hurst Green with the former taking the additional two points for the aggregate by just two shots (35-33) – the mat scores being 22-12 to Read and 21-13 to Hurst Green!

Other games resulted in wins for All Blacks over Waddington Blue by 4 points to 2 and Waddington Red beat Longridge 6-0.
