Changeable conditions faced Mytton Fold’s golfers as they approached the run-in to the final weekend of boththe Winter Singles and the Winter Pairs.

Dave Bolton came through the field to double his previous season’s best with a win, and 10 league points, when he shot 69-12-57 over the 16-hole winter course. Also grossing 69 were second-placed Mark Slater (69-11-58) and Frank Hindle (69-9-60) in third.

Long-time leader of the Singles league, Mike Walsh, failed to fire on all cylinders and, while third placed Mick Kelbie added just one point to his score with tenth place on the day, it was Frank Hindle who leapt to the top spot.

In the Winter Pairs, captain John Berry and secretary Dave Clegg cemented their position at the top with 41 points.

Sunday saw the final of the Mixed Doubles Knockout series. A closely fought match was resolved on the 17th green, when Garry and Jean Davies conceded victory to Chris and Sue Hughes.
