Clitheroe Dolphins on form for third place swim

CLITHEROE Dolphins travelled to Cheshire on Saturday evening to take on five teams from across the North-West.

The standard of swimming was high but all the competitors rose to the occasion winning many fingertip finishes to get the additional point for the team.

The final result wa;s Bebington 255 pts, Halton 242 pts, Clitheroe Dolphins 174 pts, Bury & Elton 135 pts, Ormskirk 114 pts and City of Bangor 114 pts.

Bebington and Halton were both class teams with no weak events but Dolphins did break their domination with first and second places in the following events;

1st, Ellie Taylor 10/11 50m Backstroke; 1st, Isabella Watt 13/14 50m Backstroke; 1st Will Murray 14/15 100m Freestyle; 2nd, Charlie Coy 12/13 50m Breaststroke; 2nd, Ellie Taylor 10/11 50m Butterfly; 2nd, Cameron Deacon 12/13 50m Backstroke; 2nd, Will Murray 14/15 100m Butterfly; 2nd, Abbi Procter 12/13 50m Butterfly; 2nd, Harvey Haworth 12/13 50m Freestyle; 2nd, 9-11yrs 4 x 50m Freestyle team (Emma Jackson, Hannah Procter, Megan Hunter, Ellie Taylor); 2nd, 13 and Under 4 x 50m Medley team (Cameron Deacon, Ben Stanley, Oliver Murray, Harvey Haworth); 2nd, 15 and Under 4 x 50m Freestyle team (Will Murray, John Gornall, Jarvis Stanton, Harry Paige); 2nd, 13 and Under 4 x 50m Freestyle team (Cameron Deacon, Ben Stanley, Oliver Murray, Harvey Haworth).

Clitheroe Dolphins now anxiously await the draw for the third round of the competition where the teams are split into three galas dependent on league table position after the first two galas.
