CLITHEROE Dolphins’ swim league team travelled to Leyland on Saturday evening for the first gala of the season.

Everyone was raring to swim, and there was also the added bonus of seeing whether their coach Dean Sumner practices what he preaches as he was called into action!

It turned out to be an incredibly close gala. After 12 events, Dolphins were in the lead by two points, but by 24 events, Garstang had moved ahead by nine.

Relays play a very important role in swim league as they earn double points, and the Junior Boys and Inter Girls won 32 points for Dolphins with their clean sweeps of wins by impressive margins! The final results saw the team pipped into third by a point.

Next up is the Annual Distance Gala on May 11th/13th, followed by the Micro A team away at Crosby on May 20th.
