TWELVE-YEAR-OLD quad biker Ayrton Knowles is gearing up for the biggest weekend of his year.
The Chatburn racer is taking on the very best 10 to 14 year olds in the country this weekend in hope of becoming British Champion.
The event this year is being held over only one weekend due to the financial costs, not as in previous years when it has been over four weekends.
This has meant the set up for the track has to be spot-on from the word go and due to restrictions in the rule book, racers haven’t been able to practice or test on the very sandy “Fat Cat” moto park trac.
Ayrton has never even raced on the track before so is expecting a very tough weekend.
“I just hope it stays dry then that is at least one big problem out of the way. I am sure I’ve got the speed and I have done some extra work with my PT Mark at Carter Leisure so I know I can race hard for all four motos. Dad has gone through my quad from top to bottom so its up to me and it would be great to win in my first year in this bigger class.”
