It was a different type of Captain’s Day last weekend when Mytton Fold Golf Club’s captains past, present and future swept the board!

In his last weekend as captain of the club, Peter Main won the Winter Singles with incoming captain Mick Bryan runner-up.

Not content with this, Peter teamed up with past captain Phil Hammond in the Winter Pairs to take top spot in the Winter Doubles!

Peter Main topped the Singles with 36 points over the 16-hole winter course, followed by his ‘replacement’, Mick Bryan, who finished just one point in arrears.

Former captain Garry Davies completed the podium with 34 points.

Top three ladies were Hazel Sellars, followed by Brenda Griffith and Allison Nuttall.

Peter Main and Mick Bryan couldn’t be separated in the twos either, when they both birdied the par-three first.

The only fly in the ointment was Mick Kelbie, who waited until the final hole before taking a third share of the rollover pot.

With the present and past captains having taken top spot in the Winter Pairs with 42 points, it was down to Wayne Ivinson and John Welch to take second spot, just one point behind.

Mick Kelbie and Jean Van Boeckel finished third with 38 points.

With the club’s presentation evening tomorrow night, the pressure is on the incoming, and yet to be named, captain elect to keep up the standard! No pressure then.
