Stonyhurst Park Golf Club have had a busy couple of weeks.
In the Men’s June Medal, Category 2 was won by Phil Snape (93-22-71) from Ian Topping (100-28-72). Runner-up in Category 1 was John Simpson with (82-15-67), behind Andrew Blockeel (70-6-64).
The Men’s Invitation saw John Blockeel and C. Murray third with 40 points, with Andy Townsend and brother Richard runners-up on the card behind John Simpson and D.Woodworth on 41.
The ladies’ medal competition was won by Linda Ashworth (87- 13-74) from Carolyn Blockeel (96-16-80), with Alison Swann third (117-36-81).
In the Frances Lee Summer Medal, Gill McDonnell was third (109-29-80), on the card from runner-up Sue Kirk (104-24-80). First was the club’s lowest handicap lady Linda Ashworth (92-13-79).
Recently retired P. Seavers showed that the pressure was off by winning the Robert Lightfoot Trophy at Whalley with a five under par 67.
Second with another excellent knock was J. Jobes with a 68, just pipping D. Liles on a card play-off.
Division Two winner was C. Driver with a one under par 71.
Sneaking into the top three again was P. Chalker with a par 72 and third place went to T. Fowles with a 75.
The Scratch Trophy went to P. Campbell with a total 149 over 36 holes.
