The newly-formed Ribble Valley Indoor Bowling League got off to a sensational start when Sabden took on Waddington Red at Roefield.

Waddington skipped on mat one by Bill Rome, while Ian Jackson on mat two led by eight shots safter five ends.

Sabden rallied, and after 10 ends had reduced the deficit to a solitary shot.

In the second half of the game Sabden took control and led by six shots after 15 ends, but Waddington fought back to tie at 36 apiece.

Oon the final bowl of the game, Waddington gained two shots on mat one and Sabden two shots on mat two, as the game finished as a tie.
