BILLINGTON’S Graham Fielding has just returned from a five-day Mountain Bike Orienteering event in Fontainebleau, France, where he was part of the British Mountain Bike Orienteering squad.

Graham found the navigation to be much more difficult in Fontainebleau, with its extensive forest and a natural arena of single track trails, compared with mountain bike orienteering in Britain.

After gaining experience from training and racing with the elite riders in Britain, Graham has gained confidence for the upcoming World Masters Championships in Hungary.

The trip was successful with Edwyn Oliver-Evans winning the M17 category, Andrew Windrum and Andy Conn tied for first place in M40 and Charlotte Somers-Cocks took first in the W40.

Graham would like to thank NJD Sports Injury Clinic, Fort Vale Engineering and also Billington Brass Band Club for their ongoing support.
