Read enjoyed one of the best recent results with a seven-wicket success over Euxton on Sunday.
Mohammad Jamal led the victory charge with 107 off just 64 balls, with 13 fours and six sixes.
Read restricted Euxton - battling to stay out of the bottom two along with bottom side Padiham - to 226-9, with Ulricht van Duyker making 83.
However, Read passed the target with three wickets down as Joey Marshall added 66 to Jamal’s century.
Padiham recruited Lancashire all-rounder Oliver Newby for their game at Ramsbottom Cup winners Ribblesdale Wanderers, and the former Read man claimed six home wickets for 37 from 16 overs.
However, Wanderers defended their target of 111 as prolific Ian Britcliffe returned figures of 7-65 from 16 overs to earn his team a 17-run victory.
Saturday’s games were washed out.
Read were 95-3 against Baxenden, while there was no play in Padiham’s trip to Settle.
This weekend, Read host Edenfield on Saturday and travel to the Arbories for the derby with Padiham on Sunday. Padiham are at Salesbury on Saturday.
