AN inspirational performance by Salesbury professional Susantha Pradeep saw his side triumph over Earby.
Pradeep took four wickets on the trot before smashing an unbeaten 79 to ensure Salesbury got back to winning ways after defeat to Edenfield the weekend before.
Salesbury, who were playing at home, won the toss and decided to bat against an Earby side several places above them in the Ribblesdale Cricket League.
After reaching 94 for the loss of just two wickets Earby looked in complete control of the tie before Pradeep turned the match on its head with a magical spell of bowling.
His dismissed opened Chris Walton, who was just four runs short of his half-century, before taking another three wickets on the bounce to reduce Earby to 94-6.
A shell-shocked Earby were eventually bowled out for 135 with Pradeep’s final figures reading 5-40.
In reply Salesbury were in trouble early on and at one stage at fallen to 53-5.
However opener Pradeep remained at the crease the entire innings to hit 79 not out off 99 balls and help guide the team to an incredible three-wicket victory.
Salesbury will now be looking for another big performance when they take on Read away from home on Saturday.
