Jolly Roger Hargreaves came good in Clitheroe Golf Clubs Final Stableford as he took the Division Two Prize with 36 points.
Three points on the tricky 17th gave Hargreaves the edge over Ken Mantle with the same score after cards.
Stephen Law was heading for victory with 20 points on the front nine until the wheels came off on the 15th and 17th so he finished one behind, in third.
Keith Wallbank had an impressive Round but was unfortunate to miss out on the final hole so he had to settle for 4th with 34.
David Knowles got up a head of steam on the run in to head a trio of Competitors on 33 for fifth place.
Swamy Narayana finished his good season on a high by taking the Division One Prize with 38 points, the highlight being a birdie on the 11th for 4 points.
Graeme Edmondson got off to a cracking start with 7 points after two and kept his shape to claim the runners up spot from Alan Gillespie with the same 36 point score.
Nigel Clowes won the duel for fourth place after cards with Kevin Rogerson with the same total.
Top Spot in the rearranged Winter Open Fourball over 16 holes went to Visitors Brian Snape and John Hogan with a two point margin over D Lawrence and B Taylor.
Clitheroes Steve Dean and Andrew Walmsley were not to be denied as they took third prize. Walmsley did most of the spadework but Dean excelled on the three par 5s to ensure they finished on a high.
The Ladies finally had a good weather day and they turned out in numbers nicely dressed.
None better than Trudy Walne who took the prize for the best outfit and won the 9 hole Competition.
Sue Johnson pushed Walne all the way and had the same total but lost out on cards and headgear so settled for second.
Pat Brennan got the better of a three way play-off with Irene Hinks and Sheila Cornwell for third place.
Continuing the dress theme, Michelle Fielding was the starturn with an impressive 81-12-69 return for the best Nett and Best Gross to win the Jack Tattersall Trophy.
Catherine Podevyn was best of the rest with her nett 72 and Marilyn Fletcher returned to the Winners Enclosure in third place with a three shot margin over Maureen Cox in fourth.
MYTTON Fold Golf Club’s captain Gordon Lucas took centre stage as the winter season got underway in unseasonably bright weather on Saturday.
Using the shortened 16-hole winter course, his 74-16-58 was just enough to take the win following a card play-off with Nigel Fairhurst (75-17-58).
Just one shot behind the duelling duo came Phil Clegg (69-10-59), whilst fourth to sixth spots were taken by Peter Main (77-17-60), John Berry (67-7-60) and Gary Aldred (77-17-60).
Steve Brooks was seduced to play in a winter comp by the excellent weather and was rewarded with a birdie-2 at the first.
He was joined in sharing of the twos-pot by Jan Van Boeckel (again at the first) and by Phil Clegg who birdied the 11th.
In the Winter Pairs it was the new pairing of Martin Holden and Nick Avino who took an early lead with 38 points ahead of Dave Halsall/Peter Main (35 points) and brother-in-laws Keith Fitzhenry and Barrie Walmsley (35 points).
With the summer season’s almost completed, the Order of Merit for both gentlemen and ladies is now finalised.
Long-time leader Chris Chadwick held on to the end with an excellent 97 points, just seven ahead of the late-charging John Berry.
Philip Campbell’s run of form towards the end of the season brought him third spot with 71 points, and Barry Hargreaves ever-consistent play netted fourth overall with 61 points.
Season-long leader Allison Nuttall finished top lady with 25 points, some five points ahead of lady captain Patricia Leyland.
Judith Kay finished third (18 points) with Linda Clegg fourth with 15 points.
