Joe Garner is having the season of his life at Preston North End.
The 25-year-old didn’t find the net in the 1-1 draw at Stevenage Borough on Tuesday night, but the Whalley-based striker is enjoying the most prolific campaign of his career to date, having hit the 20-goal mark with two in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Oldham Athletic.
Having joined the club he supported as a boy in January 2013, the former Blackburn Rovers youngster has taken time to find his feet at Deepdale, but is now firing on all cylinders as Simon Grayson’s side chase promotion from League 1.
Garner’s previous best haul was 14 in 35 games for Carlisle United six years ago, which earned the former England Under 19 international a £1m move to Nottingham Forest.
But North End assistant boss Glynn Snodin believes he can go on and reach 30 goals.WE
