Whalley’s Sarah Ronnan wasn’t fazed when she spent the day training with Burnley last week.

Sarah’s father Andrew won an auction to train with the Clarets at their Gawthorpe training ground, and the striker took full advantage of the opportunity to rub shoulders with the professionals.

Having met the squad and posed for photographs with September’s Sky Bet Championship manager of the month Sean Dyche, Sarah got her training kit, complete with her squad number 32, pulled her boots on and strutted her stuff.

The lifelong Claret, who was top-scorer in sports editor Chris Boden’s Accrington Stanley Ladies’ side that won promotion from the LFA County League Second Division in 2008, is in a rich vein of form at present, having scored 10 goals in her last four games for Haslingden Ladies - including four in her last outing!

And she found the net at Gawthorpe as well, beating young keeper Callum Jakovlevs from the penalty spot, although first team keeper Tom Heaton proved a more formidable barrier.
