Stylish-looking Whalley win

Whalley started off the match against well with a goal from Sam Jones.

They added another shortly after with both teams playing some fantastic football.

In the second half, Whalley (pictured) scored again through Frazer Kenny and added two more through Fergus Moss and Mckenzie Strong.

At the end of the game, managers D. Cook and A. Derbyshire thanked Paul Howland, of C2UK communications, for kindly sponsoring the kit.

• CLITHEROE Wolves Under 11s Reds ran out convincing 5-0 winners against Bacup Juniors Under 11s Reds.

Harry Jackson netted a rebound off the keeper to open the scoring as hailstones hampered the game up until half-time.

In the second half, the wind dropped slightly and Wolves held strong in defence, with further goals coming from Harry Jackson, man-of-the-match Joe Briggs, George Bland and Connor Jackson.

A close fought encounter between Crown Paints Under 11s Gold and Clitheroe Wolves Under 11s Reds was won 4-3 by Crown.

Wolves went on the attack early on, netting quickly through Taylor Wilson with Crown soon counter-attacking and equalising. Sam Pickles and Joe Briggs took Wolves ahead, Matthew King was denied and Harry Jackson hit the bar before Crown again came back, scoring twice to level the match at half-time.

Wolves had the better chances in the second half, but the Crown defence, and an excellent performance from their keeper kept Wolves at bay, and a goal near the end of the match gave Crown the win.

Man of the match was named as Joe Wilson.
