Welcoming back several players after injury and work commitments, Rimington ran out easy winners over their mid - table league opponents.
The opening exchanges were fairly even but once Rimington settled and began to press the opposition, the chances soon began to flow.
Captain Mark Leach claimed two early goals whilst Adam Hutchinson took everyone by surprise with a stunning left foot shot into the top corner to make it 3-0.
Luke Conti added a fourth before a mix - up in defence allowed Colne to score a consolation goal for a 4-1 half-time score line.
Rimington’s midfield quartet of Leach, Roger Haythornwaite, Hutchinson and Jordan Walmsley totally dominated the second half, with the latter’s performance reminding everyone how much his incisive play has been missed over the last two injury-hit months.
Leach added two more second half goals to bring his total to four, and Conti scored a second half hat-trick - the pick being a delightful turn and chip - to also finish with four.
Hutchison added another and Luke Green got in on the act with his usual accomplished finishing to make the score 11-1.
