Former Clitheroe keeper Carlo Nash was one of seven players released by Premier League Stoke City today.
Nash joins Jermaine Pennant, Dean Whitehead, Matthew Upson, Rory Delap, Mamady Sidibe and Matthew Lund, who have all failed to win new deals under new boss Mark Hughes.
Nash, now 39, left Shawbridge for Crystal Palace in 1996, immediately after playing for the Blues at Wembley in the 1996 FA Vase Final defeat against Brigg Town.
The £35,000 paid by Dave Bassett for Nash was a Clitheroe club record.
Nash joined Stockport County from Palace, before spells with Wolves, Manchester City, Preston North End, Wigan Athletic, Stoke City and Everton, before re-joining Stoke in 2010.
