Dog Inn will contest the Harry Dewhurst Memorial League B Cup final when they take on Globe Bullough at King George’s today.
The Whalley side have endured a frustrating campaign, with their efforts to build on last season’s cup final appearance at Accrington Stanley undermined by absences and no-shows.
As such, manager Simon Kerins feels that a win on Sunday would be just reward for those who have shown commitment and enthusiasm: “Winning the B Cup would not make this a great season, but it would certainly give us something to take into the summer.
“I have never endured such a difficult season, especially with regard to people letting us down at the last minute.
“I certainly don’t want another year like it.
“Lesser clubs would have gone to the wall and lesser men would’ve walked away.”
