DOG Inn bounced back from two shock defeats with this comfortable win at Bullough Park.
They started brightly and took the lead in the fourth minute, the returning Luke Conti latching on to Toby Barker’s superb pass and rifling past the keeper.
Dog doubled their lead on the half hour, with right-back Nick Roberts finishing from close range after captain Pete Fletcher had flicked on a Charlie Collinge corner.
Conti increased the advantage early in the second half before Bees Knees pulled a goal back moments later.
Anton Gawthorpe finished coolly for number before the Accrington side once again notched from close range.
Substitute Pete Hogan powered home a Collinge corner before man of the match Conti finished in style for his hat-trick.
This was a fine team display, with Dane Meyler outstanding alongside Fletcher in central midfield and 16-year-old Joe Hudson making an impressive debut in goal.
Manager Simon Kerins said: “It was vital to get the last two results out of our system and I am delighted that we have done so.
This was a very cool and disciplined performance, but we should have doubled our goal tally. That said, when you score six goals and know you should have scored a lot more, it is a pretty good sign.”
