An absolutely thrilling winner-takes-all match saw Clitheroe Wolves claim the East Lancashire Alliance League title.

From the whistle the match was fast and furious , and the Colts had the edge in the first half, with Wolves kept at bay by their defence, and keeper James Prendergast two fine saves, before Fulledge took the

lead going into half-time.

Wolves struck back in the second half, equalising from a fabulous Harry Jackson strike.

As the pace increased, Wolves continued to press and were rewarded when Connor Jackson fired home to take the lead.

The Colts fought back and

equalised, only for Joe Briggs to again take the Wolves into the lead less than a minute later.

With quarter of an hour to go, Wolves continued to attack the Colts’ goal, and the defence held strong against any attempt by the Colts to break through, sealing a well-earned first place for a jubilant Wolves team at the final whistle.
