Clitheroe boss wanting a brighter start

Blues Boss Simon Garner is urging his players to start games as convincingly as they finish following another draw on home soil.

For the second time in successive weeks Clitheroe fought back from a goal down at Shawbridge to salvage a point.

Jason Hart netted an 87th minute equaliser against Burscough last week and scored from the spot in the 66th minute in the 1-1 draw with Ossett Albion at the weekend.

It was a third consecutive stalemate for the Blues, but they’ve now accumulated 15 points from their previous eight league outings.

“The fact that we have drawn so many games at home is obviously not ideal,” Garner said in an interview with the club’s website.

“The big positive is that we avoided defeat but coming from behind is something we wouldn’t have to do if we started games better. I am never happy with a draw, we need to pick up points and win games.”
