CARL Garner believes his new-look Blues squad will climb the First Division North table sooner rather than later.
Clitheroe languish 20th, with six points from eight outings, but an influx of young and exciting prospects has seen the pendulum swing in the Blues favour.
A 5-2 victory over Premier Division outfit Burscough highlighted the promise at Shawbridge, and Garner said: “We’ve signed some cracking, young and exciting prospects. The league will take care of itself. We know we’re not suddenly going to jump in to the top six, but when things settle down we will climb that table.”
It’s been a struggle for Garner to find consistency among his Shawbridge ranks. However, once players return from injury Garner feels he will have a highly competitive team of ‘Galacticos’ at his disposal.
“The team has changed completely,” he said. “When everyone’s fit the squad will be as big as Real Madrid’s. I’m looking forward to the day when everyone is available. It will be a real task picking a team then.”
