The Clarets have made a move to keep Michael Keane at the club by offering the former England Under 21 international a new four-year contract at Turf Moor.

Amid interest from Premier League champions Leicester City, who reportedly had a £11.5m offer knocked back recently, Burnley boss Sean Dyche is understandably eager to put an end to the transfer talk.

The 23-year-old, wanted by Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri to provide competition for defensive duo Robert Huth and Wes Morgan, has made 69 appearances for the Clarets in all competitions and contributed to 20 clean sheets last term as the club were promoted to the top flight.

The new contract offer for Keane, who was included in the PFA Championship Team of the Year, would make the defensive kingpin one of the highest earners at the club.
