Burnley directors offer their support for Barry Kilby

The Burnley FC Board of Directors have today shown their support for Chairman Mr Barry Kilby, following the announcement that he will stand down in May.

The following is a joint-statement on behalf of Joint Operational Director Mr Brendan Flood, Mr Clive Holt, Mr Mike Garlick and Mr John Banasczeiwicz, along with new Chief Executive Mr Lee Hoos.

“Barry has taken a lot of responsibility in his 13 years in charge, expertly guiding this club through good and bad times.

“He is a hugely respected Chairman, both inside Turf Moor and among peer clubs and we feel sure that every fan would want to thank him for his commitment.

“At a director level, we know that Barry loves and always wants to do the best for Burnley Football Club and we are extremely proud and grateful for his contribution, which we hope will continue, despite his recent health issues.

“Operationally, we continue to have a shared vision and the board structure remains strong and focused on achieving what we all want for Burnley Football Club, which is success on the field and stability behind the scenes.”

i feel sad that Barry Kilby ,One of the most respected Chairmen of the football league ,has to leave the club prematurely because of illness . As a distant Burnley supporter , I am aware the splendid work he did for Burnley to rise again among the most successful clubs . Burnley slumbered in lower divisions for 33 years , He was the man that push the club to promotion to Premier League . Had there not been a Judas among us , Burnley would have remained in the Premier League . We are all aware that Burnley are not a rich club . Inspite of it they have managed well financially and the credit goes to Barry Kilby .We have petals of praise to shower on him . We wish well .
