A new chapter at Shawbridge is upon us as Clitheroe Football Club prepare for life under boss Simon Haworth.

And, judging by results in pre-season, it promises to be an entertaining tale.

The Blues are unbeaten in six games ahead of the Evo-Stik First Division North campaign, winning five of those while scoring 29 goals.

The Ribble Valley outfit added a 9-1 thumping of Liversedge to victories over Haslingden St Marys, Silsden, Barnoldswick and a Morecambe XI at the weekend.

Brad Carroll and Joe Mitchell had given the visitors a 2-1 lead at the interval in Yorkshire but it was the second half that brought a rare feat.

Both Kurt Willoughby and Modou Cham netted hat-tricks as the away side cruised to a comprehensive triumph.

They now entertain an AFC Fylde XI on home soil in their final friendly on Saturday with kick off at 3 p.m.

The Blues will begin the new campaign away at Ossett Albion on Saturday, August 13th, with their first home fixture coming under the floodlights at Shawbridge against Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday, August 16th (kick-off 7-45 p.m.).

After an FA Cup tie against either West Allotment Celtic or Consett on August 20th, Clitheroe will travel to Brighouse Town the following weekend, the 27th. They bring August to a close at home to derby rivals Ramsbottom United on the 29th.
