A tour party of 36 Clitheroe Cobras boys and girls accompanied by in excess of 40 adults headed over the border to Yorkshire for a series of fixtures across 3 days.
A victory at Skipton for the U10s in the opening match was followed by wins for both the U12s and U15s at Harrogate, largely due to the batting prowess of Sam Mulligan and Tom Stones. The U15 girls kept up the Cobras undefeated start by thrashing Pannal and the only defeat of day one was for the U10s
The second day saw the U10s suffer a 19-run defeat at Acomb while the U12s fell to a last over defeat. The U15 mixed boy and girl team put up a spirited effort at Dringhouses losing by one wicket as the U12s posted 134 on their way to victory there. The U10s meanwhile experienced 11-a-side cricket for the first time at Heworth, losing by five runs.
The final day of the tour saw the U15s secure a comfortable victory at Ovington, as did the U10s, while the girls came up against a strong side at Ilkley and lost by 24 runs.
Cobras chairman Farouk Hussain said: “It’s been a wonderful 3 days. The boys and girls have gained so much from the whole experience.”
