Clitheroe Cobras under 11s maintained their incredible dominance of the Arthur Shaw shield by winning it for the eighth consecutive season.

Playing the final away at Euxton, the Cobras won the toss and put the opposition into bat.

There were early wickets for James Scorah and Frankie Jackson, and as a result Euxton never really recovered thanks to some tight bowling and aggressive fielding.

A further two wickets for Billy Jacks, a brilliant catch in the deep by Harry Lang off Jonathan Richardson further pegged back the innings.

The clinical display was finished off with wickets apiece for Eli Smith and Jackson.

Euxton finished on a net score of 26.

The Cobras were never in trouble and just maintained a steady pace not losing wickets.

The pick of the batters were Sam Mulligan with 14, Billy Jacks with 11 and Charlie Dewhurst with 15.

The Trophy was presented by Arthur Shaw, and the Cobras progress into the Countywide stages of the competition with an away fixture against Irlam.
