It has certainly been a special weekend for Clitheroe Cobras Under 13s off spinner Angus Spencer.

He helped the Under 14s collect another piece of silverware for the Chatburn Road trophy cabinet in an emphatic victory over Read, then a couple of days later went on to mark his senior debut with a tremendous five-wicket haul against Baxenden in a Third Division.

Cobras Under 14s opened steadily with Dewhurst (42) and Lang (17) racing to 62 off the first 10 overs.

Dominic Stuart continued the onslaught as the Cobras raced to 149 off their 20 overs.

Read’s hopes were dashed when an opening burst of 3-8 from Jimbob Scorah was backed up by 3-1 from Spencer, Read capitulating to 21 all out.
