CAN someone please explain how our refuse wheelie bins are sorted into general waste (non-recyclable) and bottle, glass, tins etc. when they are lifted into the rear of the refuse vehicle?
On Wednesday morning we observed our collection; firstly we watched the red bins lifted into the rear left hand side of the vehicle (mostly in pairs), and then the blue bins lifted into the right hand side of the vehicle.
Then, further along the street, the blue bins were being lifted into the left hand side of the vehicle, along with the red ones!
So as we residents meticulously sort out waste into the two streams, we would be interested to know how the council then re-sorts the refuse for disposal?
