Whalley students in East Lancs Hospice 10k Race

Staff and students from Whalley’s Oakhill School joined forces to take part in the East Lancashire Hospice 10k Race.

The gruelling challenge took them up hills and along roads and canal paths but they all finished it.

First back was teacher Mr Dave Peel who came in 54th place with a time of 43 minutes, 46 seconds.

He was followed by Mrs Karen O’Kane who completed the race in 51 minutes, 48 seconds.

The first pupil to finish was Jacob Woods who, with a time of 56 minutes, 51 seconds, was the second under 18 male to finish.

Lucy Fielden was the second under 18 female with a time of 57 minutes, two seconds and Mrs Cath Sutterby finished in one hour seven minutes.
