A Ribble Valley gamekeeper has been heralded for his quick thinking after he apprehended three men who had attempted to gain entry to the derelict Moorcock Inn, Waddington.
Aaron Cullen, who is responsible for the whole of the Waddington Fell area across to Meanley, came across the three males acting suspiciously as he drove over the top of the moor from the Newton direction.
He rang police after he had spoken to a woman who was at the pub in response to the pub’s intruder alarm being activated.
He then set off on foot, covering some considerable distance before he found the males hiding in woodland.
Aaron then handed the suspects over to the waiting police.
Sgt. Pete Moore, of Clitheroe police, said: “Three males were detained and questioned after the incident thanks to Aaron and his public spirited actions.”
