A male casualty was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital after being treated by air ambulance doctors.
The North West Air Ambulance landed at 2-38 pm today (Thursday) to deal with a man suffering a medical emergency.
The helicopter landed on a playing field belonging to St Michael and St John’s RC Primary School which is a designated landing area.
The man was treated by First Responders on the grassed area opposite Tesco supermarket in Clitheroe before being treated by doctors from the NWAA. He was later transported to hospital by road ambulance.
A crowd of onlookers gathered at the scene and police officers were also called out to the incident.
